Zionist aggression in light of the International Criminal Court system
In light of the repercussions of the Palestinians’ efforts to defend their right to recover their usurped lands and the right to self-determination and obtain recognition of the Palestinian state, and in view of the genocide and displacement efforts by the occupation regime that entered a new phase after the 7th of October 2023, all Palestinians, along with the Arabs who bear the banner of this just cause, look forward to justice from the International Criminal Court by holding the military and political officials of the occupying regime accountable for the results of their destructive policies, their terror of defenseless civilians, and their crimes against the Palestinian human being.
To clarify the procedures of the International Criminal Court, the National Democratic Society organized a symposium entitled “Zionist Aggression in Light of the International Criminal Court System” on the 19th of December 2023, at the Society’s headquarters located in the Adliya area. The Vice President of BHRS, Dr. Osama Albaharna, spoke at the symposium as a representative of the Bahrain Human Rights Society. The BHRS paper summarizes the Palestinian actions in the International Criminal Court up to this time, the laws to which the court is subject, and the components of international criminal law, and indicates what some analysts and lawyers believe that resorting to the International Criminal Court may be a “double-edged sword.”
